Coach Profile

James S Miller FInstLM FInstSMM MAC
James is a Founding Member of the Association for Coaching (Scotland) and Founding Director of Coaching and Quality Systems CIC
His abilities as a coach began in a sporting context - as a qualified National Coach involved in coaching individuals and teams in target rifle shooting at club and national levels. Later as a trainer of young apprentices he became involved in the delivery and assessment of the TDLB Level 3 Unit entitled, "Facilitate Individual Learning through Coaching" - this style of coaching looks a bit like training and is designed to enable individuals to pass on their workplace skills and knowledge to others - it is significantly different to Life and Personal Coaching.
James was the first candidate to complete the Coaching with Insights programme and is an accredited Compass (Personal Development) Practitioner. The Insights system is built around the model of personality first identified by the Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung. This system takes the everyday aspects of observable behaviour and supports the coach to use this knowledge to develop strategies to help others on the pathway to success in both life and work. The methodology is similar in concept to transpersonal coaching which takes a holistic approach to coaching individuals. The coach considers the client in relation to the different contexts in which he or she operates and how these different systems interact.
He has achieved the Level 5 Diploma in Management Coaching and Mentoring with the Institute of Leadership and Management and was a regional specialist External Verifier for their suite of Coaching and Mentoring qualifications from NQF Levels 2 to 7. In addition to coaching, he completed the Fenwick's Mentor Trainers Module and has gained experience as a workplace mentor supporting candidates and staff with regards to equality and diversity issues.
